Cardmodels
These models are made of paper that has been designed and printed on a computer then assembled.
Skips These are ground effect aircraft with warpable wings. They resemble orcas, the totem of Clan Komoko.
NOAA patrol boats. This is a model of the PV Chinook used by NOAA fishery enforcement in places such a Homer and Kodiak. Fenrians would use similar craft for fisheries enforcement.
Seiner This is the type of fishing boat used in Alaska to catch herring. It has a purse seine, which is a large net drawn in a loop to catch fish. Fenrians would use similar boats.
Orca Kuspik
This is part of my effort to design clothing for Fenria. On Fenria women's clothing consists of a hooded garment worn with leggings. The garment is based on an traditional Alaskan kuspik. I entered this costume in the 2005 Science Fiction Worldcon in Glasgow, Scotland.
I nearly received a prize for best workmanship, however I'm unsatisfied with many things about the costume. The color does not work well on stage and the fabric isn't all that comfortable.
A Regency Lady Undresses
I made this for the 2009 Worldcon in Montreal. It's an authentic, as authentic as I could make it, costume from the Regency Era, right down to the underclothing. I learned my lessions from Glasgow, and this time made a costume in white. I also chose something that a large number of people can relate to. There are many people interested in the Regency Era, a lot more than are interested in speculative clothing design from an imaginary planet.
For this costume I received a prize for best workmanship in the novice devision.
Blue Bolt Superheroine
Defender of fish, champion of the oceans, takes on New York. Here I am in costume at the FF&P gathering at 2011 RWA Nationals in New York. I bought the dress because I really like it. Then I made tiara, vambraces, and cape to adapt it as a costume for the gathering.
Victorian Steel
FF&P the Fantasy, Futuristic, and Paranormal chapter of RWA planned a steam punk gathering at 2010 RWA nationals. It would be on a steamboat in Nashville. I couldn't resist. I made a corset with the hardware on the outside, complete with handmade busk. Unfortunately, Nashville was flooded. Instead the convention was held in Orlando Florida. But the gathering still occurred.
